VETERANS AFFAIRS OF DAWSON COUNTY
The Veterans Affairs of Dawson County, was founded in 2004, each year
thereafter, November 11th has been celebrated as Veterans Day in Dawson
County. Dawsonville was recognized as a 2007 Veterans Day Regional Site by
the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. There are only 27
approved Regional sites in America.  It is requested that all elected officials
"Proclaim November 11th as “Veterans Day Celebration" throughout the
county.

For many of our veterans, this has been a healing process as they marched in
the parade and received a warm reception from the community. Respect and
recognition has been given to each veteran to let them know that Dawson
County truly appreciates their service to our country.

The Mission Statement of the Veterans Affairs of Dawson County is as follows:
"The Veterans Affairs of Dawson County; is dedicated to supporting our

patriotism throughout the year with memorials, dedications and celebration.
Our goals are to increase recognition, support of our veterans and active
military from the citizens of Dawson County. We demonstrate to the
community that we are actively working to bring honor and respect to our
veterans and active military.”
